Ready to take your career to the next level? We’re currently seeking an experienced Stamping Simulation expert to join us in our US Headquarters located in Troy, Michigan.

Senior Application Engineer / Stamping Simulation Engineer

Your position as a Stamping Simulation Engineer will be to consult train, support and perform root cause analysis on issues in Stamping Formability and Die Design to support our customers. To be successful, you should be able to master the following:

  • Technical account management for Automotive OEM’s, Tier One Stamping Suppliers and/or Die Houses
  • Become an AutoForm simulation software expert to support clients in developing stamping dies and creating designs that pass their formability requirements
  • Maintain a strong and professional relationship with key AutoForm software companies and their users, decision-makers, and influencers by understanding the client’s general design process and simulation requirements
  • Be comfortable to deliver technical training, teaching clients how to use AutoForm software in our modern computer training labs
  • Document client visits and interact with Sales Account Manager on client needs and planning
  • Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on one or more AutoForm software application domains
  • Support our Sales team with technical pre-sales discussions software demonstrations
  • Support customers on-site as well as through our on-call support system
  • Participate in technical software testing prior to software release and report any issues through our corporate ticketing system
  • Assist in software delivery and installation at clients
  • Visit trade shows to showcase AutoForm software
  • Actively participate in technical global teams to engage in advanced application techniques, software enhancements, and internal knowledge transfer
  • Other duties as assigned

Professional Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in Sheet Metal Forming, FE Analysis, Die Design, Body Design or Equivalent
  • AutoForm simulation software experience is preferred
  • Experience or course work in Finite Element Analysis
  • Desire to do software simulation with a background in sheet metal stamping and materials engineering is a must
  • Process layout for stamping dies and production process engineering
    - Draw die development and die construction
  • Stamping simulation, finite element simulation and/or computer aided design
    - Die tryout
    - Hot Formin
    - Panel Hemming
    - Hydroforming
  • Production quality / statistical process assessments
    - Sheet metal product design / engineering
  • Experience with CATIA V5, Unigraphics, and/or NX is a plus
  • Experience with AutoForm, Pamstamp, and/or Dynaform is preferred
  • Willing and able to travel within and outside the US, Canada, with occasional travel to Europe
  • Motivated to succeed in a small company environment
