Postprocessing

The “accurate” simulation of stamping processes requires a lot more than just computational accuracy. The following aspects are essential to the meaningful and reliable application of simulation technology:

  • Correct representation of die and process conditions in the simulation
  • Correct representation of sheet metal used in physical tryout or production
  • Proper interpretation of simulation results to arrive at correct and actionable feedback on product and / or process
  • Clear understanding and consistent use of application-specific simulation controls

The training is intended to enhance the competence of current AutoForm users in all these areas.

One clear focus of this training is on postprocessing of simulation results. Postprocessing – understanding and interpreting simulation results – helps the user accomplish his main objective in running simulations: arriving at reliable and actionable conclusions on the product / process being simulated. Roadmaps are introduced as a systematic approach to post-processing simulations on different classes of parts. Evaluate for example the surface quality of outer panels or discover the automatic detection of forming issues on inner parts.

Audience

This two-day training is intended for process planners and tool designers with a basic knowledge of AutoForm-Explorer. Process Engineering I & II are prerequisites for participation.
