Sales Director for USA & Canada (Head of Sales)

After more than 25 years leading the world of sheet metal forming simulation, AutoForm are now stepping into an even wider playground. The release of a new software product now enables AutoForm customers to also optimize Body in White assembly operations. This innovative capability is giving our customers the opportunity to rethink fully their Body in White process. By enabling deep collaboration between Stamping and Body in White assembly teams at our customers, very significant cost and time savings can be achieved. AutoForm are willing to be instrumental in this transformation of the industry and already initiated ambitious programs with leading global OEMs in that direction.

AutoForm’s business in North America has grown significantly over the past years and our USA team aims to play a central role in this industry transformation. In order to conduct this change from a Sales perspective, we are looking for an experienced, personable, high-energy Sales Director to be the Head of Sales for the US and Canadian sales territories. The Sales Manager will lead the group in leveraging customer intimacy initiatives combined with AutoForm’s Value Engagement Projects to help grow and maximize software sales.

A successful candidate will be energetic, persuasive, well organized, team oriented, with a proven track record of successfully selling software in a strategic way. This position reports to the Country Manager located in Troy, MI, USA.

Position Responsibilities:

Customer and Market

  • Create and develop strong relationships with clients at the executive level, inclusive of decision-makers and influencers, by understanding the customer’s processes and communicating the value gained by using the recommended AutoForm methodologies at the Automotive OEM’s, Tier One Stamping and Body Assembly Suppliers and/or Die Houses
  • Identify and solve client issues strategically
  • Promote and deploy AutoForm Value Engagement approach
  • Understand the competitive landscape and market trends
  • Drive, implement and monitor the sales business plan for the US and Canadian Market

Sales Team

  • Effectively communicate and execute company’s strategy and value proposition for the US Team
  • Lead and develop existing US Sales team
  • Establish sales objectives by developing and implementing annual sales quotas for Sales team
  • Forecast sales revenue for all software products
  • Drive, mentor, and motivate the Sales Account Managers
  • Work with the US Technical Manager to implement targeted sales strategy and support amongst the tech team
  • Ensure collaboration with Country Managers on all global accounts, and take the primary sales strategy lead for all US/Canadian based accounts globally

Operational Efficiency

  • Work collaboratively with the Country Manager, sales, tech, accounting, office manager and marketing teams, while fostering a positive process improvement culture and environment
  • Ensure all legal and tax documentation is collected for each customer in close cooperation with finance/accounting team.
  • Generate and maintain accurate Account and Opportunity plans
  • Drive and monitor CRM adoption and usage within AutoForm USA
  • Manage and implement sales forecasting, planning and buyer driven sales and marketing processes, establishing high levels of quality, accuracy and process consistency for the sales and marketing organization
  • Plan and manage the AutoForm USA marketing budget, plan events and activities that will drive the greatest opportunities for the team to generate new leads, and work with the internal and global marketing team to generate the appropriate media for publication
  • Ensure reports and other internal intelligence and insight is provided to the sales and marketing organization
  • Analyze pipeline and lead data, deliver periodic reporting to AutoForm Management, providing key business insights (Leads Generation, Pipeline, Forecast, Conversion Rates, Target Account)


  • Significant experience in selling complex technical (software) products, ideally in the automotive industry in the field of car development / production
  • Strong Leadership and Management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams, for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Desire to own projects and exceed expectations, with ability to find solutions and deliver results within a rapidly changing, entrepreneurial, technology-driven culture
  • Understand the impact of operational initiatives from a sales and marketing perspective
  • Ability to prepare reports and use of appropriate mode of communication. Must be proficient at analyzing data, building reporting and making strategic recommendations based on data and trends
  • Capable of managing multiple projects at once and meeting tight deadlines
  • Keen business sense, with the capability to creative business-oriented solutions to problems
  • Ability to travel in the USA and Canada with occasional travel to European countries
  • Personal automobile and insurance required to travel to local customers
  • Overnight travel anticipated approximately 15% - 25%
