Technical Team Leader

to join us in our team located in Ohio.

The Technical Team Leader reporting directly to the General Manager with 3-7 direct reports, leading and contributing to organization, while maintaining and balancing a full workload, account assignments, and managing employee performance evaluations.

Your tasks:

  • Lead a team of engineers in the technical account management of Automotive OEM’s, Stamping Suppliers and Die Houses that utilize AutoForm software. The Technical Team Leader will need to help develop team to succeed in the following:
    • Team should be considered AutoForm simulation software user experts to support our clients in developing stamping dies to their specific design criteria
    • Support customer needs by understanding die construction, hot forming, outer panel hemming, stamping and how it relates to simulation software to resolve customer inquiries and root cause/resolve software related issues
    • Technical Team Leader and team should maintain strong professional relationships with key AutoForm software users, decision-makers, and influencers
    • Understand all client’s general design process and simulation requirements
    • Provide meaningful documentation of client visits along with follow-up
    • First line in customer escalation process for high priority issues
  • Subject matter expert role in several AutoForm software application domains
  • Ability to deliver technical pre-sales discussions, demos and showcases
  • Delivery of basic and advanced software application and domain knowledge trainings
  • Lead and participate in technical software testing prior to software release
  • Software delivery and installation to clients
  • Participation in global technical experts' team towards advanced application techniques, software enhancements, internal knowledge transfer
  • Identify processes that are not working and could be streamlined
  • Participate weekly in the technical team lead meeting with technical manager, sales team and general manager to review client and issue status
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring candidates and other HR functions as required
  • Help guide and support budget planning, approval of travel expenses and ensure team is meeting financial budget targets
  • Understanding individuals skill levels – tracking in skills database
  • Ability to collaborate with team in a positive manner, clarify roles, processes, responsibilities and sharing information with context and clarity
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly team leadership and individual metric and goal review
  • Responsible for setting goals and tasks of team and giving annual performance evaluations
  • Foster growth, mentoring and training of team members to help meet goals individually and as a team
  • Other duties as assigned

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
  • 6-10 years’ experience in sheet metal forming, FE analysis, die design, body design or equivalent
  • Experience using AutoForm, Pamstamp, and/or Dynaform simulation software is preferred
  • Experience with CATIA V5, Unigraphics, and/or NX is a plus
  • Strong interest, academic studies and/or experience in sheet metal stamping and materials engineering including strong competence in at least three or more of the following areas:
    • Process layout for stamping dies, draw die development, production process engineering
    • Stamping simulation, finite element simulation and/or computer aided design
    • Die tryout, production quality / statistical process assessments
    • Sheet metal product design / engineering
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America and able to travel to Canada and overseas
