Formability engineering requires iterative re-design of part features, and re-evaluation of redesigned geometry until the part is determined to be robustly formable. In order to quickly and reliably achieve a formable part design, part modifications must be easy and quick to implement, and formability results assessments must be quick to obtain. Only then can the designer ensure that the optimal product geometry is established and validated. However, relying on a CAD system is not an efficient means of achieving this.
