AutoForm Growth and Expansion Continue

AutoForm Engineering GmbH, the leading supplier of software solutions for the sheet metal forming industry, has opened its eighth subsidiary office world-wide, in Italy. The company also reported very successful results in 2004, with sales revenue increasing by 23% during the year and the number of employees reaching 125, as well as an expansion of its distribution network in Germany.

AutoForm’s Italian office is located in Moncalieri (Turin), and provides sales and technical support for the company’s full range of software modules for sheet metal forming. AutoForm has been serving the Italian market since 1995, providing CAE software solutions to leading automotive manufacturers and suppliers such as Fiat, Iveco, Pininfarina, Fontana, Elasis and UTS.

According to Dr. Volker Steininger, COO of AutoForm Engineering: “The Italian market is one of the most important in Europe. Therefore it is a logical step for us to open a subsidiary office, as we have previously done in seven other countries. The opening of this office reflects AutoForm’s philosophy of best-in-class service to our customers. Staffed with experienced Italian-speaking engineers, the Moncalieri office provides our customers with on-site technical support, training courses and engineering services. We are sure this will further strengthen our success in the Italian market.”

In Germany, AutoForm has appointed :fepcon GmbH (Sindelfingen) as distributor in the Baden-Wuerttemberg and Bergisches Land regions. Whereas AutoForm serves directly OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, :fepcon will offer AutoForm software solutions and technical support to small and medium-sized companies, which represent a significant market potential.

Dr. Volker Steininger explains: “:fepcon has a well-established reputation in the sheet metal forming sector, supplying simulation software and technical services as well as CAD/CAM solutions. We are pleased to have :fepcon as AutoForm distributor, who will complement our sales efforts.”

According to Dr. Andreas Rennet, CEO of :fepcon, “Not only do we sell software, but we also provide technical support and assistance. Because our scope and expertise include engineering services and software sales as well as consulting services, we will expand the applications of AutoForm software, for example for secondary forming operations. We are very optimistic that we will achieve this goal, and that our customers will benefit from significant cost reductions and shorter lead times due to AutoForm software solutions.”
