This training is intended for planners and cost estimators who have to reliably deduce tooling costs based on part geometry. For this purpose, AutoForm has developed an effective software tool, AutoForm-CostCalculator^plus. It has been designed to determine manufacturing costs for the toolset needed to stamp any formed sheet metal part.

The training starts with the introduction of basic functions such as geometry import and part tipping. Thereafter, all process relevant key data are established and the automatic feature detection is started. By means of only a few mouse clicks, the user is able to improve the process layout until all cost relevant tool components and, thus, final costs are calculated. This training enables users with little or no experience with AutoForm software to become proficient and effective in the reliable application of the software for bidding and process planning purposes.

Different part and tooling concepts are introduced in the training allowing the user to learn the basic principles of the component cost calculation, e.g. a trim steel or a pierce punch. The training is completed with an overview of customization options for cost calculation, such as definition of customer specific hourly wage rates.

Audience

This three-day training is intended for planners and cost estimators who have to determine the tooling costs. No prior AutoForm training or experience is required.
